Men's and Women's Teams, College Sides, Alumni Sides! All played in last years Tourney to make it the best end of the season event ever!

What is the Deer & Beer tourney all about? Cortland-Homer Thundering Herd RFC had an idea. There's a tournament for every holiday on the books but central New York's biggest Holiday, Deer Season! And instead of spending the weekend prior to opening day in our hunting camp, let's play ball. With a little help from some Monmouth, New Jersey ruggers who come here to hunt our prized antlered trophies, we had "game" in more ways than one!

Soon the word got out & rugby players, men and women, came to watch & have some fun. Soon there were players from Syracuse, Binghamton, Watertown, Geneva & Rochester @ the pitch throwing sides together to play ball! We had a double elimination format playing 15 a side. The lady ruggers only had enough for two sides of tens but they got to play too!

Afterwards we invited everyone back to our camp for a social of grilled venison and refreshments. Now it's getting to be that time again And our friends from Jersey are comin' up!
